The Portuguese Free Zone
The Lusophone Free Zone follows the line created by Captain W.B. Robertson who instituted the so-called Ron's Orgs.
Dealing mainly with written and spoken materials, it is important to make them available to those who speak only Portuguese. Portuguese is the 5th most spoken language in the world, the 3rd most spoken in the Western Hemisphere and the most spoken in the southern hemisphere of the Earth. But on our website we have also the original materials in English in order to maintain its source.
Our intention is to bring together the various centers that provide services in Portuguese-speaking countries, offer them information and support them.
The "Free Zone" self-generated in the early 1980s, more exactly when the RTC (Religious Technology Center) and (as it seems) agents of the U.S. government took over the Church of Scientology.
This took place from 1982 on, when thousands of CofS members abandoned or were expelled by the RTC.
In 1952, in lecture no. 20 of the Philadelphia Doctoral Course, Ronald Hubbard stated (sic) :
"Scientology will decline and become less useful to humanity on the day you become the owner of the way of thinking. Don't think it won't. It has all the conditions to do so."
In another lecture given on June 6, 1955, he states:
"When we look at the future we see that we are dealing with a material with the potential to control and dominate humanity, and that we cannot allow it, at any time, to be the monopoly or the tool of a few to the detriment and disaster of many. And I believe that the freedom of the materials we know and understand is only guaranteed by organizational lightness, by a maximum of people, good training and a good transmission of information, reliable and sensible. If we do this, we'll win. But if we are not able, sooner or later the information we have will become the property of a few unreliable ones."
In the Free Zone, we try to maintain the old spirit of Scientology. We don't need large organizations or hierarchies. In fact, the best organization, in addition to wisdom, is a high level of friendship, competence, and responsibility of its members and for its members.
Our goal can be translated by the last sentence of Ronald Hubbard's "Factors":
"But these things that are written here man can experience and know. And some may take the trouble to teach them, others may be willing to use them to help those who suffer, and others may still wish to employ them to make individuals and organizations more capable thereby giving Earth a culture that we can be proud of."
