Thursday - January 4, 2001 GREENVILLE - United States Attorney Janice McKenzie Cole announced that three eastern North Carolina men were sentenced in federal court here on Wednesday, January 3, 2001, by U. S. District Judge Malcolm J. Howard, for drug, firearms, counterfeiting, and robbery violations. DANIEL MAURICE McDUFFIE, 25, of 934 Killdeer Road, Spring Lake, N. C., was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment, a fine of $10,000.00, and a supervised release term of three years. Indicted by a federal grand jury on February 3, 2000, McDUFFIE pled guilty on August 8, 2000 to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base (crack) and cocaine powder. DARRYL QUINN McDUFFIE, a/k/a "Larry Turner," 29, of 5134 Waterbury Place, Fayetteville, N. C., received a sentence of 132 months imprisonment and five years of supervised release. Also, he was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $400.00. McDUFFIE was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 3, 2000, and pled guilty on June 12, 2000 to possession of a firearm after he had been convicted of a felony and passing counterfeit money. Both McDUFFIE cases were part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, code-named "Operation Ramrod."
